What a personal year is
Numerology divides life into repeating cycles of nine years. Your personal year number says where you are in the current cycle, and each number has a traditional theme: 1 for beginnings, 2 for patience and partnership, 3 for expression, 4 for foundations, 5 for change, 6 for home and responsibility, 7 for reflection, 8 for effort and results, and 9 for completion.
How it is calculated
Add your birth month and birth day to the calendar year, reducing each to a single digit first, then reduce the total to a single digit from 1 to 9. Your birth year is not used. The tool shows each step and also the years on either side.
For example, for someone born on 4 July, in 2026: July is 7, the 4th is 4, and 2026 reduces to 1 (2 + 0 + 2 + 6 = 10, then 1 + 0 = 1). The total is 7 + 4 + 1 = 12, which reduces to 3. That would be a personal year 3.
A note on the start of the year
Most numerologists run the personal year from 1 January to 31 December. Some start it on the birthday. The tool uses the calendar-year convention and says so in the result.
Personal year readings are a tradition for reflection, not a forecast. They are a prompt to ask what a year might be for, not a prediction of what will happen.
