This policy covers cosmos.nidarshanavedh.com (“the site”), operated by Nidarshana Vedh from Gujarat, India. It sits alongside the policy for nidarshanavedh.com and jain.nidarshanavedh.com, because the three sites share one email verification. It is written to be read, not skimmed. What we collect and why
Your email address, when you use the free tools. Before any of the free tools runs (the Sun, Moon and Rising calculator, your sign in both systems, the numerology calculators, zodiac compatibility and the birthstone finder), we ask for your email and your explicit consent, and we email you a 6-digit code to type in (the same email has a one-click link as well). Before sending it, we check that the part of the address after the @ can receive mail at all, using a public DNS lookup. We store the address, the exact consent text you agreed to, the date and time, the page you were on, and the country your connection came from. We use it to confirm the address is yours and, because you agreed, to send occasional emails about your chart, timings and new tools, starting with one welcome email after you confirm. Nothing you type into the tools themselves (birth date, time, place, names) is sent to us or stored by us. The charts and numbers are computed in your browser.
Place search. When you type a birthplace, the letters you type are sent to OpenStreetMap’s Nominatim service to find matching towns. That service sees the search text and your IP address, as any website would. We do not see or store them.
Messages you send us. Contact form messages are delivered to our mailbox through FormSubmit and kept as ordinary email.
Analytics. When switched on, we use Google Analytics 4 and Microsoft Clarity to understand which pages and tools are used and where they break. These set cookies and record page views, clicks, scrolling and, in Clarity’s case, anonymised session replays with typed text masked. IP addresses are truncated or not stored by these providers. We do not run advertising on the site.
Linking analytics to your email. If you have given us your email address to use the free tools, we attach that address to your Microsoft Clarity sessions, so that when you write to us we can see how the tools behaved for you rather than guess. Clarity hashes the address inside your browser before anything is sent, so Microsoft does not receive it in readable form, and we pass no display name. Visitors who have not given us an email address are never linked this way. Your address is also kept in your own browser’s local storage so the link survives between visits; clearing your browser data removes it, and asking us to delete your data removes the rest.
Where the data lives
Email and consent records are stored in Cloudflare Workers KV, and a copy is kept in a private spreadsheet in our own Google account (Google Sheets), and may be kept in our own customer relationship system (Twenty CRM), so that we can honour unsubscribe and deletion requests in one place. Verification and any follow-up emails are sent through Resend. Analytics data lives with Google and Microsoft. The site itself is served by Cloudflare Pages.
How long we keep it
Email and consent records are kept until you ask us to delete them or until we close the list. Analytics data is kept for 14 months.
Your rights
You may at any time ask us to tell you what we hold about you, correct it, or delete it, and you may withdraw consent for emails with a single reply or with the one-click unsubscribe link in any email we send. Write to [email protected] and we will act within 7 days. This applies to everyone, and it reflects the rights set out in India’s Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023.
Cookies and browser storage we use
nv_vandnv_ok: remember that this device has a verified email, for one year. Shared across nidarshanavedh.com and its subdomains, so one confirmation covers all three sites.nv_site1: which of our sites this browser visited first, so we can tell where a person who signs up came from. It holds only the site’s name, for one year.theme: your light or dark preference, stored in the browser.- Google Analytics (
_ga,_ga_*) and Microsoft Clarity (_clck,_clsk): analytics, only once switched on, as described above.
No data is sold, rented or shared for anyone else’s marketing.
