The Western and Vedic difference

In Vedic astrology the Ascendant is called the Lagna, and it is the anchor of the whole chart. The Vedic zodiac is sidereal and sits roughly 23 to 24 degrees behind the tropical, so a tropical Aries Rising is often a sidereal Pisces Lagna.
